6. Understanding the Distributor Profile

Similar to your own Company Page and your individual Profile, each Distributor that joins commonsku is also recommended to fill out their details making the information more open to the community and thereby creating a better collaborative community of users on the system. With that information being available to you as a Supplier, you can support your current accounts more comfortably as well as better understand new Distributors you have yet to work with.

 

Navigating the Distributor Company Profile

DETAILS

The information included in this field is the data that Distributor has uploaded directly in to commonsku themselves. This area of the Distributor Profile is also open to edits, however those edits are only for your own team and will not impact the information that Distributor has already uploaded into commonsku

 

Note: The information in these fields can vary depending on the Distributors. At a basic level Distributors are encouraged to include their company contact information.

 

CONTACTS

The contacts within a Distributor Profile are those that have created a Profile on commonsku. Similar to how you yourself created your profile, each user within the Distributor list would have a had similar requirements to include contact information, profile picture, details about their time in the industry etc.

 

INSIGHTS

Unlike the Insights feed on the Home page, the Insights feed on the Distributor Profile is specific solely to that Distributor  presenting, quoting or create POs with your company's products. This will aid you in your communications with Reps as it is an easy touch point to help get products from ideation to order!

 

COMMUNITY

The Community tab on a Distributor Profile is specific to that company posting to the Community (on the Home page) looking for outside help and advice on their projects. How can this be utilized? Think of it like this: That Distributor has openly posted to a community of users asking for product suggestions instead of coming directly to you. That's not to say all community posts are going to be relevant to your product line however, it is extremely useful to know who you may need to work with more so they know to come to you first instead of looking elsewhere.

Navigating the Rep Profile

 

Much like your own profiles on commonsku the Distributor Reps profile also acts as their business card. The information at hand are the details that they have decided to make available to the commonsku community to view. If details are hidden e.g. email address / contact phone number etc. it is because they have specifically adjusted their account settings to not display these.

 

COMMUNITY

Each contact Profile will also give further insight at the Rep level whenever they have posted to the community.

 

This keeps posts archived in date order (latest being at the top of the feed). Much as you would use the community tab on the Home page, you can interact with Distributor Reps direct from their profile on their posts. Your comments will be added to the community feed for all to see.

How to Find a Distributor Contact

 

You can quickly access a Distibtruor contact's profile simply by clicking on their name anywhere you find them within the system. This can vary depending on where you are in commonsku, though you can quickly access their profile by clicking on their name in the Community, Insights and Collaborate as well as within the Distributors (tab) and Directory.
